The Limetree Restaurant
The Limetree has been one of the top restaurants in South West Scotland for more than a decade, but it’s not ‘fine dining’ in the traditional sense. There is, however, consistent emphasis on the best quality ingredients, many sourced from the Moffat area and seasonal cooking. The Chef, Matt Seddon sums it up well:
“I cook what I like to eat – real food – big taste and flavour, no fuss.”
Matt cooks alone in the kitchen and, as such, has full control over the food he produces on our short but frequently changing menu. If you have any dietary requirements or food allergies, please let us know when you book.
The Limetree Restaurant will be open on Friday and Saturday evenings only for the near future.
We hope to review this as conditions ease and will keep you posted.
Restaurant bookings will be taken from 6.15 until 8.45pm with each table spaced 30 minutes apart.
We ask please, that you arrive promptly to help us respect other guest’s personal space.
We will ask you for contact details and an email address when you book.
There are a maximum of 6 tables each evening split across 2 rooms.
Pre booking and pre order will be required by Wednesday for dinner on Friday and Saturday
Menus will be posted to social media, this website and direct by email if you already have a confirmed reservation.
Please make a booking by telephone – it’s so much easier to have a conversation in person.
We are happy to accommodate special dietary requirements. Please feel free to discuss any queries you have over the phone.
Fresh, seasonal produce is used as much as possible. Our local suppliers include Barony Country Foods and Paterson's Fruit & Veg.
We are delighted to have achieved an entry in the Michelin Guide for the 10th year in a row.
